Navichem, a member of the KAELINE Group, is looking to hire a Procurement Manager for its operations in Athens.
We are launching a dynamic new chemical project focused on innovation, sustainability, and efficiency within the industrial sector. As we scale operations, we are seeking a Procurement Manager to build and lead our supply chain network, ensure compliance with industry standards, and oversee the strategic procurement of goods and services essential to our operations.
Role Summary:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for setting up and managing the end-to-end procurement function. This includes developing a robust supply network, establishing relationships with suppliers, managing warehousing strategies, ensuring product certifications, and supporting the overall operational readiness of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the procurement strategy aligned with the overall project objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for raw materials, equipment, and services required for the chemical operations.
- Set up and manage supply chain processes, contracts, and logistics workflows.
- Establish and oversee warehousing and inventory management practices in line with safety and efficiency standards.
- Ensure that all products, materials, and suppliers meet regulatory and industry certification requirements.
- Conduct market research to stay informed of supply trends, cost fluctuations, and potential sourcing risks.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Finance) to ensure smooth and timely procurement.
- Develop and manage procurement KPIs and regularly report on performance, cost savings, and supplier performance.
- Participate in budget preparation and cost control activities related to procurement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement and ethical policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a procurement or supply chain role, preferably within the chemical, industrial, or manufacturing sector.
- Proven experience in developing supply networks and establishing procurement infrastructure from the ground up.
- Strong knowledge of supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and procurement compliance.
- Familiarity with chemical industry regulations and certification requirements will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in procurement and ERP systems.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally between company sites and supplier locations.
